Paiva Walkways & Arouca Suspension Bridge - All Inclusive!

Discover a beautiful walking trail and cross one of the longest suspension bridges of the world!
In this tour, the walk difficulty level is Medium/Difficult! You`ll walk 8km, but downstream!

We leave from Porto at 9AM towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and for coffee.

Get ready for adventure! After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across one of the Longest Suspension Bridges of the World! It spans 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and hangs 175m (576ft) above the Paiva river!

Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.

Then, you will walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 8km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the Paiva river.

Time for lunch! A delicious meal is waiting us! Meat, fish or vegetarian options available.

After lunch we’ll discover Arouca for a glance about local culture and history including: convent sweets tasting.

    • Children under 6 years old are not allowed to cross the bridge.
    • On the Arouca 516 Footbridge are NOT allowed: pets, baby strollers and umbrellas. Is also NOT allowed to cross the bridge in flip-flops, high heels or barefoot. I also advise you to bring comfortable footwear and clothing, sunscreen, sunhat and enough water. In the event of rain, bring a raincoat or a poncho and an umbrella. Alert: arriving at the Walkways, the road gets a bit winding. If you have car motion sickness problems, we advise you to have a tablet or a pill to help with that issue.
